Digging Deeper into Digg: Power Users, Gatekeepers and Agenda Setting
MRP (multimedia project)
A content analysis looking at Digg’s front page material and users from June 2010 to May 2011, attempting to find patterns that suggest inequality amongst how the site’s front page material is published. With an emphasis on gatekeeping and agenda-setting, a sample size of over 2,600 front page posts were reviewed, finding that Digg’s front page was indeed controlled by a small group of users.
