James Hirsh is Professor of English at Georgia State University. He is the author of The Structure of Shakespearean Scenes (Yale UP); Shakespeare and the History of Soliloquies (Fairleigh Dickinson UP, forthcoming); and articles in Shakespeare Quarterly, Shakespearean Criticism Yearbook, The Ben Jonson Journal, Modern Language Quarterly, Essays in Theatre and elsewhere. He edited New Perspectives on Ben Jonson (Fairleigh Dickinson, 1997) and English Renaissance Drama and Audience Response (an issue of Studies in the Literary Imagination).
