George E. Haggerty is Professor of English at the University of California, Riverside. His recent publications include Music and Sexuality in Britten: Selected Essays of Philip Brett (2006), Queer Gothic (2006), and The Blackwell Companion to LGBT/Q Studies, edited with Molly McGarry (2007). His study of Horace Walpole's correspondence, Horace Walpole's Letters: Masculinity and Friendship in the Eighteenth Century, has recently appeared.
