Abstract
An introductory chapter sets forth the scope of the thesis. The second, third and fourth chapters set forth and comment on the most significant historical passages in the Historia Naturalis of Pliny the Elder. Chapter five attempts an overall analysis of the historical passages examined in the preceding three chapters. Chapter six draws conclusions on the worth of Pliny as a Roman Historian.
