Abstract

Therein is reported an experimental evaluation of a model after Abdel-Alim and Hamielec, for bulk and suspension polymerization of vinyl chloride for the conditions of nonisothermal polymerization and polymerization with multiple initiator systems.

The model predictions for these rather extreme conditions are reasonable. It appears that with minor modifications the model could be used to design initiator systems and to develop new molecular weight recipes for commercial initiators.
