Abstract
The aim of this study has been to review earlier criticism of La Mort dans l'Ame, which is mainly adverse, and to suggest that Sartre, with some success, used both the characters and the structure of the novel to explore imaginatively the philosophical ideas of L'Etre et le Néant.
